Annai Veilankanni’s Educational and Cultural Society was established in the year 1988. The far-sighted vision and the strenuous efforts of Dr. S. Devaraj, the Founder has been instrumental in starting and developing Annai Veilankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions. The group has been rendering selfless service with undying dynamism to the student community with care, concern and commitment for the past 30 years in Chennai through its 8 Institutions. They are: Matriculation Hr. Sec School, Arts and Science College, Pharmacy College, Teacher Training Institute, College of Education, School of Nursing, College of Nursing and Engineering College.

The importance of Skills Development has gained prominence and importance in all walks of life. The UGC, Government of India Ministry of Education , Dept of Higher Education, Government of Tamilnadu and the affiliating Universities have encouraged the Colleges to offer choice based credit system in the curriculum and vocational add on courses and skill enrichment courses in institutions to impart and equip students with necessary skills for their professional growth and personal growth. The Annai Veilankanni’s Group of Educational Institutions have been successfully conducting many courses through various supportive organizations and experts in respective fields.

The Annai Veilankanni’s Academy for Skill Development & Competitive Studies – AVASDCS, is the brain child of Dr. S. Devaraj, its Founder. Its objective is to cater to the needs of all the students and teaching community in our institutions and the public bringing in world class standards in every training programme with experience and expertise gathered through various professionals, academicians, industrial experts, scientists and scholars in every field. Every programme will churn out specific skills among the students to equip them with skill based knowledge and transferable skills to develop human resources and global citizens for the best global placements.
